Speech Recognition Scientist needed in San Francisco.

VOCAL POINT is currently seeking a speech research scientist to head its speech recognition group, which is developing world-class, noise-robust speech recognizers, based on innovative neurally inspired technologies. The successful candidate will lead the speech recognition activities within Vocal Point, both for government contracts and commercial speech recognition consumer products. The duties of the position include applied research, software development, and collaboration with product development engineers.

A Ph.D. in a speech-recognition related field is required. Experience with traditional speech recognition techniques (including HMMs and cepstrum preprocessors) and neurally inspired techniques are necessary. Knowledge of noise reduction techniques and discrete-time filtering is a plus. Strong programming skills in C/C++ are required.
