Professor in Electro Acoustics

A position as full professor in Electro Acoustics at the Department
of Acoustic Technology, The Technical University of Denmark
(DTU), is vacant for appointment as soon as possible.

The activities at the department include theoretical acoustics,
electro acoustics, building and room acoustics, psycho acoustics,
vibrations and structural acoustics. Through this position DTU
wishes to maintain and expand its research and teaching activities
within electro acoustics and related areas in order to assist
further development of communication systems and a general
improvement of the acoustic environment. Particular emphasis is put
on areas related to the existing research regarding:

  1.Theoretical and experimental models and methods for
investigation of relationships between objectively measured or
calculated parameters and human sound perception
  2.Theoretical/numerical description of sound fields, e.g. around
electro acoustic transducers, in rooms and outdoors
  3.Development and implementation of physical or psycho acoustic
measurement and calculation methods for recording, transmission and
reproduction of sound.

Applicants must document considerable research contributions within
at least two of the three topics mentioned above besides a
considerable knowledge of the third. The applicants must have a
broad knowledge of fundamentals of acoustics within the audible
frequency range including its application in solving engineering
problems. The applicants must be open to enter into project
cooperation with industry and external institutions.
