Re: Tests of auditory ability
I have a book that covers the topic of music perception tests:
Lehman, P.R. (1968) Tests and Measurements in Music.
Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall.
It is an inventory of commercially available (well, as of 1968 anyway)
tests that were apparently used in public schools to test different
aspects of musical ability. Even if these tests aren't currently
available, the book is useful because it describes the various tasks,
and there is a reasonably good discussion on defining different
aspects/components of "musical ability."
