Abstract:

The region of light emission in a sonoluminescing bubble is so stressed that the spectrum is mostly ultraviolet and spectral lines are not apparent at the level of resolution currently employed (10 nm FWHM). In order to increase resolution and search for possible structure within the broadband spectrum, a new apparatus which makes use of reflection optics has been developed.
