Abstract:

For the evaluation of subjective diffuseness and subjective preference, the IACC has been utilized. Not only the maximum interaural cross-correlation coefficient IACC for |(tau)|(less than or equal to)1 ms, but also its interaural time delay (tau)[inf IACC] and the width of the interaural cross correlation W[inf IACC] (the width of the time of the function crossing zero) are the elements of the interaural cross-correlation function. From the previous study, the IACC and the interaural time delay have influence on the subjective preference of a sound field in an existing hall. Also, it is considered that the width of the interaural cross correlation, which is related to the frequency characteristics of the source signal, has significant effects on the evaluation of ASW.
