There is a need for a simple model that can be used to predict the noise levels from impulsive events. These data are needed for Environmental Assessments and Impact Statements. This paper presents a model that fills this need. It can be used to predict either the expected mean level and its standard deviation at a fixed location or the distance to a fixed sound level. The model includes corrections for terrain, and buried or elevated explosions.
