The spatial-frequency characteristics of the local sound insulation for finite length laminated shells are investigated. The influence of layers parameters of the shells on values minima of the sound insulation was considered. Special attention was paid to the possibilities of sound insulation increasing in the double-wall soundproof housings. It was found that the conditions for the sound insulation of double-wall housings may be 10--15 dB larger than the sound insulation of simple housings with the same weight.
