New parameters representing the naturalness of fluctuations in fundamental periods of speech are proposed. They are calculated from the intermediate parameters for the calculation of fractal dimension. This paper shows their strong relationship with the perceptional judgments using GRBAS. Fluctuations in the fundamental period are important for the naturalness of speech. Many researchers have been trying to quantificate the naturalness of fluctuation. Although some researchers insist on the effectiveness of the fractal dimension for this purpose, it is difficult to find the obvious correlation between the fractal dimension itself and GRBAS. However, the contours of the intermediate functions for the calculation of a fractal dimension such as N[sub k](r) [{number of pairs x[sub i] , x[sub j] such that (parallel)x[sub i]-x[sub j](parallel) Precis presentations will be held in Kresge Little Theatre from 12:55 to 2:40 p.m. followed by poster displays in Kresge Rehearsal Room B. Posters will be on display, and all authors will be at their posters, from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m.
